Godeza Sapphire Ring

Godeza Sapphire Ring This GODEZA ring centers on two vertically stacked pear-cut blue sapphires, bezel-set in polished metal for a smooth, sculptural look. Pavé diamond shoulders add light, texture, and elegance without overpowering the design. Balanced, airy, and refined, the ring blends modern sophistication with timeless beauty, emphasizing comfort, durability, and visual harmony. The ring becomes a narrative of duality, connection, and emotion, symbolized by twin sapphires and realized through meticulous, architectural craftsmanship. Blending heirloom elegance with modern minimalism, it rejects trends in favor of timeless meaning. More than jewellery, it is a sculpted emotion: a wearable memory, personal artifact, and future heirloom.

Welcome to my first blog: Understanding Stones.

Understanding Stones This post aims to give you some perspective to understand the differences between Mined Diamonds vs Lab-Grown Diamonds vs Moissanite. They differ vastly but this information might help you in being able to distinguish the core characteristics when making purchases that involves conversations which could potentially lead to confusion due to the use of terms and names. Please note that this blog is based on my personal knowledge as a jewellery lover and consultant with a passion for design. I don’t claim to be a diamond specialist or grader but I rather seek to offer some objective insight as many of my clients initially misunderstood these definitive types of stones and they expressed the value they found during our consultations. This is my way of giving back without asking anything from you. I am fairly sure this information will empower you on your journey of decision making when procuring beautiful jewellery pieces for an engagement ring, an anniversary gift, for a birthday or just a spoil for a loved one. Appreciating the differences between mined diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, and moissanite allows you to choose with confidence and certainty. Mined Diamonds: Conventional and Classic Mined diamonds are formed naturally deep within the earth, making them one of nature’s most extraordinary creations. For generations, they have symbolised permanence, commitment, and legacy, which is why they remain deeply rooted in traditional fine jewellery. From a practical perspective, mined diamonds rank a perfect 10 on the Mohs hardness scale, making them exceptionally durable for daily wear. Their composition is made up out of pure Carbon atoms making it one of strongest materials known to man. Mined diamonds are rare in the sense that they are natural wonders that formed billions of years ago in the earth’s crust. They command the highest price point, and their value increases significantly with carat weight, colour and clarity. However, this rarity comes at a cost — both financially and ethically. Mining practices can raise environmental and social concerns, though many of my clients find they will rather compromise on size or clarity to remain within budget and get a natural diamond. I believe, mined diamonds appeal to consumers that find value in their natural origin and being able to identify them by their unique inclusions and characteristics which gives them a personality of their own. Lab-Grown Diamonds: Conscious Luxury Lab-grown diamonds offer a modern alternative without sacrificing authenticity or aesthetics. Created using advanced technology that replicates natural diamond formation, these stones are chemically, physically, and visually identical to mined diamonds. Even trained professionals require specialised equipment to tell them apart. Chemically, Lab Grown Diamonds have the exact pure carbon atom structure as Mined Diamonds, they’re just cultivated in a lab. What sets lab-grown diamonds apart is accessibility. They roughly cost 90% less than mined diamonds, allowing clients to choose larger stones or higher clarity without increasing their budget. For many, this represents a more balanced approach to luxury — one that embraces innovation while maintaining timeless appeal. Having that immaculate 3ct engagement ring is much more attainable than before. From an ethical standpoint, lab-grown diamonds offer greater transparency and significantly reduced environmental impact. While their resale market is still evolving, their value lies in what they offer today: uncompromising beauty, responsible sourcing, and intelligent design freedom. Lab-grown diamonds resonate strongly with clients who appreciate modern luxury rooted in conscious decision-making. Moissanite: Beyond Brilliance Moissanite is not a diamond, and it makes no attempt or hold pretence to be one. Originally discovered in meteorite fragments, moissanite is now lab-created to achieve exceptional clarity, durability, and brilliance. With a hardness rating of 9.25, it is suitable for everyday jewellery and resists scratching and chipping remarkably well. Moissanite’s chemical structure varies from diamonds: it has a central carbon atom that is surrounded by four silicon atoms. Visually, moissanite offers something unique. It reflects more fire than diamonds, producing a vibrant, rainbow-like sparkle that is immediately noticeable. Because moissanite has a lighter weight when compared to a diamond, stones often appear larger per carat, making it a compelling choice for bold, expressive designs. This really gives you the freedom to explore intricate and exquisite designs balanced with reasonable price points It’s greatest advantage is value for money. Moissanite allows clients to spend on striking, luxurious pieces without the premium price tag associated with diamonds. While it does not carry significant resale value, it excels in wear-value — delivering beauty, confidence, and longevity in daily life. Many of my clients favour moissanite, specifically those who prioritise brilliance, individuality, and design-led luxury balanced with affordability. My closing thoughts There is no universal “best” stone — only the stone that aligns with your lifestyle, values, and personal expression. Some clients are drawn to the timeless gravity of mined diamonds, others to the balance and ethics of lab-grown diamonds, and many to the unapologetic brilliance of moissanite. The most valuable element is not the stone itself, but the story it tells and the confidence it gives you when worn. Luxury today is informed, considered, and deeply personal. During my consultations I guide each of my clients through this decision making process with transparency and care. I really believe that true luxury lies not in comparison, but the intention in choosing a piece that feels authentically yours. I invite you to explore jewellery that speaks to who you are — not just what you own. Yours in sparkle, Magnus GODEZA: “Designed with Passion. Distinctively yours.”
